A Brief History
The company was founded in 1992 and has enjoyed steady, positive growth ever since. In 1993 the first Instructor College was opened with strategic back up and financial planning provided by accounting services firm FBTC.
By 1997, 16 colleges were open in the UK, a number which now stands at 22. During the same year Lansdowne Venture Group Ltd was formed, incorporating The Instructor College, FBTC and Red Driving School. The Instructor College went from strength to strength and in December 2004 LVG bought LetsDrive, the second largest driver training company in the UK.
Just two years later LVG launched DriveLegal in response to an opportunity generated by new occupational road safety legislation. Throughout this period Red Driving School has enjoyed steady expansion, and ambitious plans for future growth are soon to be implemented.
LVG continues to expand across the UK from its dedicated Head Office building in Brighton and its two operational support facilities in Liverpool and Billingham. In recent years the company has been proud to add ADI News and The Association of Professional Driving Instructors (APDI) to its portfolio. Today, LVG operates from a position of strength and maturity, utilising a wealth of invaluable experience to forge ahead with new and established business.
